The Lazy Life

Man, today I'm totally livin' "the life."

I just watched a marathon of FRIENDS (Don't you say anything, Frankie, I LOVE that show, dammit). And now I'm going to spend a few hours at the pool. All these activities require minimal movement. How I admire this luxurious laziness!

Hey--I have to get in all the lazy days I can before I search for my "career." A little rest is quite needed right now.

Free Bird

Still SO EXCITED FOR TURKEY. I know, I say this too often, but it's been FOUR YEARS since I've left the country. For a wanderluster, that's a LONG time.

I'll be packing my bags in the next few days, flying to my next destination, nothing but the wind to carry me on.

...Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

P.S. I'm not leaving quite yet, haha. I still got a few more posts left in me :)

No thanks to perfection.

Why is everyone always striving to be perfect?

Why are we so hard on ourselves, and each other, when we make mistakes? I become ashamed with the best of them, I know.

Well, society can suck it. Cheers to our imperfections and what makes us unique/imperfect/different/quirky! I embrace all the mistakes I have made in the past, for they have made me the lovely human being I am today (and am still striving to be). How boring would we be if we had never made a mistake EVER? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

I wish people would stop being so damn judgmental, cause honey, you AIN'T perfect.

*end rant session*

(there was nothing in particular that brought this on, I'm just sayin')

The Little Critic

I had my last day at my customer service job today...YES! FREEEEEEEDOM.

Turkey in one week, suckaaaaas.

Summer is going well, although it's been hot as hell (hey, that ryhmes).

I saw two movies within the last week. Here are my thoughts on them.
  1. The Happening--WASTE OF MY TIME (but not my money, cause I saw this movie with J when we hung out, and he paid...HA HA, in his face!). All I have to say about the movie is: M. Night Shyamalan, were you on crack? I usually enjoy this man's movies, but The Happening was just not up to par. Do not go see it.
  2. Get Smart--I originally did not want to see this movie, but got dragged along by a roommate. I ended up loving it. Steve Carell does not disappoint! I laughed a lot during this flick. Totally worth your time and money...I haven't said that about a movie since I saw Across the Universe in November!
Ok, so that was my random post, I'm a little delirious I think. Maybe it's all the time in the sun I've been spending. But I have to fulfill OPERATION: BECOME LESS WHITE!

Excuse Me, We're Through

I had a hangout with J for the first time in months. It was me, him and one more friend. He's the one that asked to hangout (begged, actually).

I sat there, next to him, feeling nothing for him, wanting nothing from him. I felt...liberated.

It's a funny feeling when you are truly over someone; when that someone you once thought the world of all of sudden feels like a distant memory, or a passing nightmare. I won't be hanging out with him again anytime soon.

A few words from the newest English singer (from the recent British invasion!), Adele:

Excuse me first love, but we’re through.
I need to taste the kiss from someone knew.

Forgive me first love, but I’m too tired.

I’m bored to say the least and I, I lack desire.

Amen to that!

Fun in Dresses

So you should know by now that I really like making my own photo shoots. It's too fun (for girls and gay guys, at least).

So my roommate and I gave ourselves a reason to take photos: we wore ball gowns and frolicked around Downtown San Diego. Our friend Sonja (who's studying abroad from Norway) came with us :)

Pictures of our enchanted evening (hehe) :

This is just some funny sh*t.

Ok, so I'm going to start my own tag thingy, and tag you fools! Read through, this is one that will be fun to do ;)

Go to http://www.urbandictionary.com/ and type in your answer to each question in the search box, then write the first definition it gives you...

1) Your name?
Ashley:
a bad ass motherfucker who who won't take no shit off of nobody
i.e. that girl is about to get the Ashley knocked out of her.

2) How old are you?
23:
The greatest number of all time. (fuck yeah!)

3) What Should You Be Doing?
Dancing:
Formal term meaning: to move with unhindered grace around an area with the presence of another enjoying the same activity.

Urban term: Humping someone in public

Sad world isn't it.

Cinderlla went (formal) dancing.
Jenny and I were (urban) dancing all night at the club, then more at her house.

4) Favorite Food?
Spaghetti:
Girls who are straight until wet (two girls are making out).

person a: i thought sarah was straight
person b: kinda,she's spaghetti

5) Hometown?
San Diego: Best.City.Ever

6) Word to describe yourself?
Curious:
A new perfume featuring the face of the ever-talentless Britney Spears. Pops up in personal emails and other unwanted places. Guarantees oneself to smell of twat and other nasties.

"I smell just like Britney!", Harry screamed excitedly, as he guzzled down a bottle of Curious

7)Last person you talked to on the phone?
My friend Matthew:
a sexy guy that liked the women and has a nice tooth brush

I love you matthew you so hot, I love your toothbrush

8) What are you drinking?
Coffee:
Drug used by hackers and students.

9) Favorite color?
Purple: Extremely potent marijuana, specifically marijuana buds that have a purple hue to them. Also accompanied by a fragant, usually fruity smell and mad perma-grin.

"Yo, you gotta come over and smoke, boy! I got the purple!"

And I want to tag 5 people to do this, for fun, if you'd like: Frankie, Anthony, Jidai, CoffeeGirl and Raindog.

Come on, all the cool kids are doing it!

6.12.2008

Ugh.

Today was a bad bad day. Busy week at my customer service job=long lines=angry customers.

On top of that, I got a ticket for "not stopping" at a stop sign, which I totally did!!!!

Stupid stupid stupid stupid day!

I'm off to the gym to work off my bad mood...

Ashley & the City

I saw Sex & the City yesterday. It was...long, over dramatic, a little ridiculous, but somehow still fun. Just like a woman.

Ha.

I'm taking this change thing day by day. And really that's the only way to take life. I overcome nerves some days, I grow new fears other days, I learn with every second that ticks by.

I will tell you one thing. I may be the only girl pretty damn happy to be single right now, and NOT deal with men and their penises. (Besides the fact that I may be the only girl happy to have smaller boobs...no really. I love them!).

That's all I gotta say for today, yo.

6.08.2008

I should go live in Europe, or something.

I am completely disenchanted with the American ideal of getting ahead at others costs. "Always look out for No. 1" and all that nonsense...

I hope that I one day have the sense and bravery to have a job that truly helps others, and not just myself, even if I sacrifice the finer the things in life.

I hope I don't get completely wrapped up in the idea of security and savings. Those thing you can't take with you.

Just a thought...

Tangled, A Little

So it was grand to graduate and all, but to be honest, my stomach is in knots thinking about what's next. I'm excited for Turkey and all, but after that, it will be a-job-huntin' we go! That will be interesting!! And pretty damn scary, to be honest.

Ahhhhh...and sometimes it's really hard when things change. Like, I'll be moving back home for awhile. THAT will be interesting. And not so bad. But it's hard to move back with the parents after you've had your independence, you know?

But life will not always go the way I want...and maybe I don't know what I want at this point?

Wow, this is an exciting/scray/confusing time.
